The Crypt
with Viktor Bomstad

What?
The Crypt is a new concert series by, and with, Viktor Bomstad.
The spoken sections of this event will take place in Norwegian, before the concert begins.
This is a concert series where no venue is too strange or too scary!
Haunted buildings, abandoned factories and darkened basements are transformed into unique concert venues with very unique atmospheres. Here, Bomstad invites presenters to share stories of ghosts, exorcisms, "drauger", murders and unexplained events.
These stories then set the stage for an improvised concert, where the atmosphere is woven into new soundscapes. No evening is the same and every concert is a unique experience.
With his fever dream-like mix of electronics, guitar and joik, Viktor Bomstad – referred to as the “joik’s David Lynch” (Rudi Nikolaisen, iTromsø) – draws the audience into a soundscape that both bewitches and disturbs. This time, it is Tromsø’s own Stina Fagertun who joins. She has extensive experience as a storyteller and cultural mediator at home and abroad and was named Norway's best storyteller in 2011. She has received a number of awards for her work and is also behind the children's comedy Nisse Noppe's Christmas Adventure.
The crypt is being set up in collaboration with Sør-Troms Museum, Nord-Troms Museum and Tromsø Kunstforening, and fittingly enough, the tour starts during Halloween week itself.
The concert is part of the Tromsø World "free" programme. More about Tromsø World here
