The Entomologist, Sirin Sponga, 2026, 14 min
A shift in perspective occurs when an entomologist on a field trip finds a talking insect.
The insect describes what it’s like to live under a rock, inside an egg, in a confined space. And then it talks about something invasive, something scientific, a report.
It seems as if nature is changing, and the insect is growing in size.
Sirin Sponga (b. 2002) is a visual artist and filmmaker who works with wool and recycled textiles. She uses these materials to create costumes that are presented through experimental film and installation. Sponga holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Film School in Kabelvåg, and has studied Fine Art at the Tromsø Academy of Fine Art and the Iceland University of the Arts.
