Kinobox: Muségata 2
A film by Kristin Tårnes at Kinobox

What is it about?
Playing at Kinobox's new location in the foyer of Auraro Kino Fokus, the film can be watched from 11:00–21:00. Anyone can access it, for free, from the front doors to the cinema, or through the library or rådhus.
The film takes us on a journey through walls and time in the historical building, Musegata 2, in Tromsø, originally built for Tromsø Museum in 1894. Since the museum moved out in 1961, it has been home to many actors and different arts and cultural institutions in the city, and is the permanent home to Tromsø Kunstforening/Romssa Dáiddasiida and artists studios. It temporarily stands empty now, undergoing needed renovations. As a ghost, we move through the building's many rooms, where we get a glimpse of the stories that impregnate the walls, of people, their conversations and not least of the significance the house has, and has had, for its many users.
Kristin Tårnes (1985) is a visual artist who was based in Tromsø for mamny years, but now lives right outside Trondheim. Tårnes has a Masters in visual art from Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, and works primarily with site-specific projects and narrative films.
The film is screening as part of Tromsø Kunstforening's 100th anniversary celebrations.
