As part of the exhibition For History, Change Position, we invite you to a memorial gathering for the porous Norwegian-Russian border - a border shaped by exchange, collaboration and movement from around 1990 until 2022.
Saturday, 29 August, 14:00–17:00
Mellomvegen 82, Tromsø
Free admission
Language: English (with some Russian and Norwegian)
The programme includes a panel discussion reflecting on the Border Art Archive and the exhibition For History, Change Position from two different disciplinary perspectives, with art historian and curator Hanne Hammer Stien and border researcher Ekaterina Mikhailova.
There will also be a multilingual reading of poetic and philosophical texts compiled from material in the Border Art Archive. Artists Ivan Galuzin, Arne Skaug Olsen and Toril Johannessen will contribute a Kahoot! quiz and a toast developed especially for the occasion.
Welcome!
The programme is curated by Hilde Methi, curator of the Border Art Archive and the exhibition, and produced in collaboration with Tromsø Kunstforening. The archive can be visited online here: https://borderartarchive.org/
