SASUSU Radio and Dream Academy are delighted to be hosting a presentation and Q&A with Jinan Vyent of Oroko Radio, an independent internet radio station based in Accra, Ghana. The presentation will take place at Tromsø Kunstforening, where we will serve Tamil food prior to the presentation. Wednesday, we will serve a fully vegan menu consisting of aubergine curry, paruppu (lentil stew), carrot sambal and rice. The presentation is one of a series of talks presented by Dream Academy in collaboration with SASUSU Radio in connection with the ongoing development of SASUSU as a community-based radio locally in Tromsø.
Oroko Radio is an independent internet radio station based in Accra, Ghana. With the goal to connect, inspire, and empower through conversation, collaboration, and community, Oroko seeks to reclaim and recenter narratives from the African and Diasporic artistic communities. The organisation also serves as a platform and intends to foster and build relationships with artists and community projects on the African continent as well as other community projects around the globe - exchanging ideas, organizing workshops, co-creating programming, and much more.

Jinan Vyent is an operations leader, community strategist, and creative producer passionate about building strong, inclusive ecosystems. As Head of Community Operations at Oroko Radio, they specialize in fostering meaningful connections and designing structures that empower creative communities. With a freelance practice spanning operations management, community building, people & culture, and creative production - they support organizations in developing thoughtful strategies that center care, clarity, and collaboration.
SASUSU Radio reimagine the borderless frequencies and guerilla communication transmitted through Eelam-Tamil communities worldwide. The Norwegian-Tamil radio platform builds bridges through meeting spaces that relies on listening and cultural exchange, which coexist within a diasporic framework. Based in Tromsø, the radio engages with local places and their communities using live radio to harvest knowledge and new understandings.
